Workshop with Matthew Wood RCA - Painting Plas Mawr

Create both drawings and paintings of the beautiful and evocative interior of Plas Mawr. Working from direct observation on site and from photographs. A unique opportunity to engage with the magnificent Elizabethan townhouse in Conwy. 

Some drawing and painting experience preferable. Plas Mawr can be cold, please wear appropriate clothing. You will need to bring an A4 sketch book, a variety of pencils, a rubber, sharpener (container to catch shavings), 30cm ruler, gouache colours (Ultramarine blue, Cobalt blue, Burnt umber, Yellow ochre, Lemon yellow, Primary yellow, Cadmium red, Primary magenta, Permanent white and a range of small to medium brushes. You will be working on board - this will be provided.

Matthew Wood trained at The School of Art, University of Wales: MA in Fine Art - Painting. He is known for his atmospheric interior paintings of historic buildings.
