Become a Member
Artists may apply to become academicians in November each year, application forms and guidance information is available on the website.
Artists are invited to submit no more than 20 images on CD for consideration by members of the incumbent Council. If selected at this initial stage, artists will be invited to bring in original works to be viewed at the following Annual General Meeting. All member of the Academy present are then asked to vote on the work with the artist requiring 50% of the vote to become an elected member.
There is no formal selection criteria with artists being selected by peer review, when it is a matter of being successful within the Academy's voting procedure. There is a small administration charge which is non-refundable, unfortunately neither academicians or staff are able to give feedback.
