Became associate member of the RCA in 1930 and full member in 1931.

Brockbank was born and lived in Liverpool, and studied at Liverpool School of Art, London and Paris (Julian's), exhibiting prolifically. Mainly landscape paintings in watercolour and inks. His primary shows of work were in Liverpool where he exhibited up to 200 works.
