Explore the spontaneity of brushwork using the techniques and materials of ink, watercolour, and gouache on paper with this abstract art workshop. This session concentrates on the questions raised by paying close attention to the details in the tangible world around us, the products of our imagination, and the inherent qualities of our gestures, marks, and the intervals between them.
Using various jumping-off points, we will explore different ways of responding, from incidental to empathetic observation, and from precision to casual expression. Become immersed in the feeling involved in seeing, to discover meaning and fluidity in your abstract drawings, and enjoy how they may relate to each other and surprise you.
This art workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore and experiment with abstract art, guided by a friendly and experienced tutor. Ideal for those seeking art courses or art classes, this session provides a unique chance to enhance your artistic skills.
Paper, ink, sumi ink, and brushes will be provided.
Participants are welcome to bring their own paper, brushes (for water-based media), watercolour palette, and/or gouache.
We recommend wearing a darker or less precious top, as ink can leave a permanent mark on many clothing textiles.
