Following the death of my eldest son in 2019, my work has reached out to those who have suffered great loss. Whilst my paintings are deliberately ambiguous and often contain a spiritual element, I attempt to portray a connection to those we have loved and lost. In some pieces, I create misty, ethereal veils which hint at what lies beyond the unknown horizon whilst in others, I paint the sheer turbulence and energy of the sea. Most of my paintings have areas of bright light depicting the calmness and the hope which follow even the most tempestuous storm.
