1903-1970

Painter and photographer who studied at Liverpool School of Art, and at Christchurch School of Art in New Zealand. Browne showed at RCamA, Walker Art Gallery Liverpool, Royal Geographical Society (of which he was made a fellow in 1933) and several public galleries in the North of England. During World War II he was attached to the Air Ministry as a camouflage officer. He lived near Wigan, Lancashire.

Became Associate Member of the RCA in 1932 and full member in 1968
