ANN BRIDGES

ELECTED IN 2000

Observational drawing is the starting point for Ann’s approach to printmaking. Layers of oil-based printmaking inks are applied directly to the picture surface using small hand-held rollers. Stencils and incised card printing plates are used to add or define detail.

From 1995-1999 Ann studied Illustration at Yale College (Coleg Cambria) and the North Wales College of Art and Design (Glyndwr University) graduating with First Class Honours in Design. A two year placement at Chester Zoological Gardens as Artist in Residence provided her with her first studio and the opportunity to develop and broaden her practice. She has been awarded Arts Council of Wales funding for research projects carried out through visual diaries and sketchbooks. Exhibitions include her print-based artwork and drawings. Formerly based in Ruthin, Ann is currently living and working near Sevenoaks in Kent.
