Clive Hicks-Jenkins is represented by Martin Tinney Gallery, Cardiff. His paintings, prints and private press books are in National Museum Wales, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Museum of Modern Art Machynlleth, Pallant House Gallery, Llandaff Cathedral and the Methodist Collection of Modern Art.
Though principally an easel artist, his practices extend to the stage, illustration and animation. He is known for his collaborations with poets and he worked on Poet Laureate Simon Armitage’s 2018 illustrated edition of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and has illustrated Armitage’s new translation of the medieval poem, The Owl and the Nightingale, due out from Faber & Faber in October 2021.
His animated film of Stravinsky’ The Soldier’s Tale has accompanied numerous live performances of the work by orchestras around the world.
