Dilys Jackson lives in Cardiff and works at the Butetown Artists Studios. She has travelled and
worked in Europe, America, Canada, United Arab Emerates, Scandinavian
and Australia. She has undertaken commissions and residencies in the UK
and Canada and has exhibited in Wales, England and Sweden.
Jackson’s works derive from a kinaesthetic relationship between forms seen in the natural world and those of the human body. The curves of mountains rounded by wind and water and the growth of plants and microorganisms engender forms which have echoes in our own corporal growth and processes.
The works have formal elements of mass and division which embody the
dynamic balance between oppositions. She uses bronze, iron, steel and
stone.
