Born in 1970 in Huyton, Liverpool, Elaine Preece Stanley gained a BA at Liverpool Hope University before exhibiting in Cheshire and Liverpool galleries. Elaine has exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London and is represented by Ffin-y-Parc Gallery in North Wales. Elaine still lives in Liverpool where she works from her studio.
"I am not interested in representing ‘the facts'. I like my paintings to reveal something that makes me want to look again. My painting practice tends to be with oil paint but most recently I have found a love of painting egg tempera. I am usually exited to see landscapes in woodlands and parks, and like to express a musicality in my brushstrokes and mark making. I have also found a way of expressing my feelings of past and present in my most recent figurative and portrait work."
