ELECTED IN 2015
Jan was born and brought up in North Wales. Her commitment to her art has continued throughout her life. With a BA (Hons) from Winchester School of Art and a Post Graduate degree, she has taught in colleges and schools, had residencies across the UK, worked in Arts in Health and exhibited at home and internationally.
Jan is the recipient of several national awards, in 2007 she was awarded an Arts Council of Wales research grant which enabled her to explore both the ancient and contemporary manufacture of pure pigment in Milan, Geneva and New York. In 2012 she was awarded a project grant from the Arts Council of Wales towards a new body of work for a major touring solo show which toured the UK in 2013-2014.
Jan
was invited to become an academician of the Royal Cambrian Academy in
2015 and a member of the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales in 2020. Her
work is held in private, public and corporate collections in the UK
and across the world.
