Menai, Gwynedd, until 1994.

"The
paintings are a juxtaposition of familiar objects and human figures
at an instant in time and at a particular place. The locations are
invariably western coastal seen from a particular geographical
direction. They
are of an abstract composition where the mood is set by the inherent
light and colour. Designed to generate a particular atmosphere, they
are meticulously structured and measured to achieve a well balanced
image. The
aim is that they become a monumental and profound statement about the
ordinariness of things."
