"My paintings are responses to the Welsh landscape and history. Sometimes other subjects appear, although the focus is always on Wales.
I enjoy the process of painting and try to leave pictures on the edge, so they can look unfinished. This brings another level of experience to the piece and suggests other avenues to explore.
I like series and working on the same subject. These ways of working bring the best results for crisp painting and developed ideas. At the moment I am painting trees, they are so full of life and memory that they are irresistible."
