ELECTED IN 2005
Printmaker, Ruth Thomas lives and works in the Vale of Clwyd, Denbighshire.
"In much of my work I incorporate direct impressions from natural objects such as feathers, grass and seeds, even dead spiders and snakeskin. The natural environment has always been of great importance to me. Some of my latest prints are inspired by the birds I see and the feathers I find while out walking. Over the years I have taught in colleges of Further Education, run many printmaking workshops and have been employed as artist-in-residence in galleries and schools. My work has been shown around the UK, from St Ives to Dundee and Aberystwyth to Lowestoft, and I have work in public and private collections in this country and overseas."
