Susan was born in Birmingham to a Welsh family who migrated to the industrial midlands for 'a better life’ during the late 1840s.
Susan’s first degree was gained at Loughborough University 3D Design, followed by a PGCE from Glamorgan. She was a coordinator and lecturer for Grwp Llandrillo Menai for 20 years and in 2011, she gained the prestigious City & Guilds Gold Medal for Excellence, Creative Arts Lecture award.
In 2014 she gained an MA in Arts Practice in painting and print-making from Glyndwr University and became a full time arts practitioner in 2016.
Susan continues to work from her studio at 16 Trinity Square, Llandudno. She is a semi abstract expressionist painter, working mainly on mixed media pieces, gaining inspiration from the land and the atmospheric effects and light of North Wales where she lives and works. She participates in making figurative and natural form drawing: her expressive painting work reflects the landscape.
Susan exhibits Internationally, and has paintings currently in a world wide touring exhibition ‘Without Borders’ selected by Elysium Gallery Swansea. She has paintings in collections in Tokyo, Huston, Philadelphia and France. As well as being a member of WSA she is represented by Dot_Art Liverpool and is a member of C.A.R.N. Caernarfon.
