Maurice found great beauty in the effects of light on the landscape, especially the light on the roof tops and roads after rain. When he lived in Lancashire during the early part of his life, he had great pleasure working alongside canals with the reflection of the bridges and factories in the murky waters. Up until his death in September 2022, he still enjoyed painting the roads, churches and cottages around the Pennines and areas of North Wales such as Tan y Grisau and Blaenau Ffestiniog.
With over 70 years experience in technical drawing, draughtsman ship and painting, together with 30 years in Art Education, Maurice Greenwood has been a celebrated credit to his profession, and he has left a significant legacy for future generations.
