North Wales Potters - Beyond the Vessel

North Wales Potters Association brings together people from all walks of life who have an interest in clay, be they are professional potters, amateurs, students, teachers or collectors. Our aim is to educate and stimulate by the exchange of techniques, ideas and philosophy, whilst providing marketing and publicity opportunities for our membership with our exhibition programme.

We have a full year of events, which include demonstrations and slide shows by guest potters. In intimate and informal surroundings, we meet internationally renowned potters who share their techniques with us. Over shared food and shared activity we all get to know each other better and learn new skills to implement in our own working practice.

"Claywork", our quarterly magazine circulated to all the

membership, features articles, news, events, information, reviews and photos, and is written for the membership by the membership. The present newsletter is sent out by email, but you can request a posted one at a small charge.

Every two years North Wales Potters in conjunction with South Wales Potters and Aberystwyth Arts Centre organises the spectacular International Ceramics Festival, a unique opportunity to join some of the world's leading potters and ceramic artists all gathered together for an informative and action packed weekend.

In the year 2003 a small group of members of North Wales Potters set up a co-operative gallery in Conwy, which is open to all paid up members to join. The space is limited, so we have a waiting list. We are the only specialist ceramics gallery in North Wales, exhibiting work by local artists, all unique and hand made.
