AIL-WNEUD / AIL-DDYFEISIO RE-TAKE/RE-INVENT is a group exhibition project featuring 16 artists responding to works currently held at the art collection at the Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales. The artists are all connected with North Wales, and have been interpreting their chosen art work from the critical standpoint of current studio practice leading to new ideas and connections creating fascinating journeys of discovery as each finds ways to connect with content and meaning. As a project initiated by Fine Art at Bangor University, Re-take Re-invent has been taking place over two years allowing an extended time to focus on the process of making and will highlight sketches, studies and work books as well as finished art works. The project has included studio visits, schools projects and contributions to a group journal with commissioned photographs of the artists and studios all tracking the process of making new art from the past. Re-take Re-invent will feature in three venues simultaneously across the region and has been generously supported by the Arts Council of Wales.
