ELECTED IN 2023
Based in Bethesda, North Wales, Deanne has been a professional artist since 2006, following the completion of her Fine Art degree at De Montfort University. Her works are held in private collections across the UK and abroad and she exhibits regularly throughout Wales.
Deanne’s practice explores ways of making art using environmentally sustainable, locally sourced materials and processes. The pigments she uses for drawing are often hand-made from plants, rocks, and soils gathered from within walking distance of her home and her sculptures are created using natural and reclaimed materials such as stone, wood, beeswax, and wool.
Her works center around the figure and landscape, with the aim of creating a space for conversation about our shared connection with the natural world, hope, and the environmental footprint we leave for future generations.
