Born Cambridge 1930, Iola lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire. She has painted in Wales since 1960. She studied at Bristol Art School; Nottingham Art School and the Slade School of Fine Art, London. She is a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Art.
Iola has always enjoyed travel and painted landscapes in Suffolk, Spain, Venice and Gozo. She spends several months each year painting the landscape, buildings and beaches near Caernarfon. She has exhibited regularly throughout her career in the North West, and specialises in oils, watercolour drawings and etching.
Iola is particularly interested in the effect of light on water.
