ELECTED IN 1992
Born in 1941, Warrington, Lancs. Mike Knowles studied at Liverpool College of Art and the Slade School. He taught first at Manchester College of Art, and subsequently Liverpool College of Art, retiring in 1992 as Head of Fine Art and Emeritus Professor. Mike went on to design and develop new Fine Art degree courses for Wirral Metropolitan College and Bangor University.
"I have lived in Wales with my artist wife, Veronica, for over fifty years, raising artist daughters Emma and Rebecca, initially near Bethesda and for the last forty five years on Anglesey. I have exhibited widely in the UK and beyond, including major retrospective exhibitions at Oriel Mostyn, Liverpool University, Dean Clough Halifax and City University Hong Kong (exhibition shared with Veronica). My work can be found in private and public collections.
