Royal Cambrian Academy


The Royal Cambrian Academy has a busy and exciting education programme, including adult and children's workshops, Life Drawing, school, college and community workshops and much more.

You can join varied artists and develop a diverse range of skills in our informal and practical art sessions, across a range of disciplines.  Academicians and other specialists in sculpture, drawing, textiles and painting regularly lead sessions at the RCA.  

Classes are suitable for all abilities including beginners, giving everyone an opportunity to develop their own creativity.

Life Drawing @ the RCA

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced draughts-person, be inspired by different approaches to observation, mark-making, composition and the human body. Suitable for all abilities.  You do not have to attend every session.  Booking is advised.  Please be aware the model poses nude.

Alternative Wednesdays between 7pm and 9 pm, classes are run by the experienced tutor Barry Morris, with occasional visiting artists.

Cost £6.00 per session (students £3.00).

Artist led adult workshops

  • Cost £45.00 (student concessions available), there may be additional material costs for some of the classes.   Cost includes refreshments.  Classes run from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. 

Schools, Colleges and Community groups

We can run full day and half day workshops for schools, colleges and community groups both on and off site. We will provide a bespoke workshop addressing specific areas you wish to cover.  Please contact the Education Co-ordinator for more information.

Nova Community Project.  We are currently working with community groups to create work for three very exciting upcoming exhibitions.  If you work with a group  and would like to take part please contact the gallery to arrange.  These workshops are fully funded.  Individuals are also welcome to take part!
