    Felting the Face with Deanne Doddington Mizen RCA

    Saturday 17th February 2024 | 11am-4pm | Fee £60 | Booking is essential

    In this one-day workshop we will explore how to sculpt the face out of felt using natural wool and needle felting. You can choose to work with individual facial features or create a small head.

    All materials will be provided, and no experience is necessary.

    What is needle felting?

    It is the process of transforming wool into a solid 3D felted object using a special barbed needle which allows the fibres of the wool to tightly knit together. It is a fun and relaxing process, but it does take concentration as the needles are very sharp!

    Get to know the group. Discussion about experience and aspirations

    Understanding the head and proportion. How to break down the face into basic shapes and create them in felt. Choose what you would like to work with after lunch, either concentrate on individual features or a small head.

    Lunch - Please feel free to bring a packed lunch and drinks or pop into Conwy for food
