Join Ruth for a workshop full of collage and inky creativity!
The beauty of this process lies in its simplicity.
Line drawings on thin card will be turned into simple collages and inked with a roller, to make original prints to take home.
The workshop will take you through the construction, inking and printing of your collage printing plate on Ruth’s portable etching press.
What to Expect
- Morning Session: Ruth will provide examples of printing plates and prints, and explain the process. With a drawing or photograph as the starting point, we will make simple line drawings on card, then cut up the drawings to create printing plates using collage; additional lines and textures can be created with thread and biro.
- Afternoon Session: Ruth will demonstrate inking and printing at the start of the session. We will ink the printing plates with a roller and then print them onto paper using an etching press. Black and white prints look stunning but there is also the option to work with colour.
- Take Home Your Art: Participants will leave with their prints and printing plates – a tangible reminder of their creative journey.
Who Can Attend?
- No Previous Experience Required: Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, this workshop welcomes everyone.
