ELECTED IN 1996
Born in Colwyn Bay in 1956, David's art training consisted of a Foundation year at Wrexham, several years of life drawing classes, and finally four years with the Open College, completed in 1993. He took up full time painting in 1996.
"I work entirely out of doors. I find this the most stimulating way of
painting, and essential to my creative expression. John Constable said
that painting was another word for feeling, and that he should paint his
own native scenery best.
The emotional response I have to my own native land is fundamental to my creative process. Simply, if I did not love the landscape I could not paint it."
