Working name of Richard Alan Lumsden, printmaker, draughtsman, born in Aldershot, England. Studied at Cheltenham Art School 1953-57; University of London Institute Education 1959-60. Head of Printmaking then Design, Chester School of Art 1965-80. One person shows include Prints by Alan Lumsden, University of Wales, Gregynog 1982; Dee Fine Arts, Heswall 1983; Wenniger Graphics Boston USA, 1989; Collections include Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales; Bodelwyddan Castle Trust; Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery; Government Art Collection, London; Graves Art Gallery, Sheffield; Hereford; Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle upon Tyne; South London Art Gallery; Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester; Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead. Lives near Montgomery, mid-Wales. Became an Associate Member of the Royal Cambrian Academy in 1967 and a full Member in 1968, resign his Membership in 1970.
