I live and work from my studio & gallery at my home in Dolwyddelan. Eryri. I studied fine art & graphics at Chester School of Art and editorial photography at Rochester School of Art.
I now concentrate on printmaking in the studio, particularly gravure with etching press and fine papers together with encaustic processes and 3 dimensional pieces using timber, metals and prints.
My inspiration comes from my surrounding mountains and valleys and especially the Llyn Peninsula where I spend much of my time.My traditional, technical, training underpins all that I create. Understanding the process allows me to challenge it. I don't believe technique should dominate the image, it should only be a tool in the creative process.
Over the years my imagemaking has evolved from the representational to a more impressionistic and tactile approach. I seek mood, engagement, texture and importantly the sense of both place and touch.
