Elected Associate Member 2024
Judith was born in England and her early years were spent in various parts of Africa. She graduated in Fine Art at the West of England College of Art, Bristol. She moved to Wales and after a career in teaching art, she is focussing on her own artistic interests, and in particular her love of printmaking. Judith's original prints are in many private and public collections. She is a director and member of Swansea Print Workshop (SPW) where she teaches and works as a volunteer.
"The energies and forms of the natural world are the starting point for much of my work. The printmaking techniques and materials I use are an additional inspiration and each different process offers a new approach. This can lead to many contrasts and changes in scale.
Living in Wales, the landscape with its wildlife, flora and fauna, is a never ending source of artistic nourishment. Other recurring themes include still life, and working with texts and poetry. I enjoy the challenge of developing images which resonate with the mood and atmosphere of the writing, rather than merely illustrate"
