I was raised on the Isle of Anglesey. I studied Graphic Design - Illustration at Brighton Polytechnic. I moved to Wrexham in 1992 to work as Head of Art and Design at a high school in Wrexham and I retired from teaching in 2019. I have run Lino Print Workshops for groups in Anglesey and Wrexham. I have completed commissions for Stena Holyhead Harbour and the European Society of Clinical Virology. My work was exhibited in Print International 2021 and I was awarded the “People’s Choice” prize at two open exhibitions in Wrexham and Oswestry. I have held solo exhibitions in galleries in Holyhead, Conwy and Oswestry.

My work is illustrative and it always begins in my sketchbook with observational line drawing, mostly drawings of buildings and structures. The everyday places, the buildings, the urban environment, the industry and the history have been a great source of inspiration to me. My prints are a personal interpretation and record of these places; including local allotments, railways stations, piers and buildings all of which provide the strong shape, pattern and textures that I find so interesting.

My work is mostly lino print but I have worked with other processes such as silkscreen, etching, dry point and lithography. I find the processes of printmaking to be very exciting and the “reveal” of a print never fails to thrill me.
